Baker Donelson Adds Stephen G. Kabalka to Group of Companies

Stephen G. Kabalka, a corporate lawyer with experience in the transportation, logistics and manufacturing industries, has joined Baker Donelson as legal counsel in the firm’s Chattanooga office.

Mr. Kabalka provides strategic advice on legal issues related to commercial transactions; contracts with customers, suppliers and vendors; confidentiality agreements; and other business matters. His experience includes high value transportation, logistics, transportation brokerage, sales, distribution, procurement, warehousing, information technology, licensing, suppliers, purchasing, real estate leasing and confidentiality agreements.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Kabalka worked for over 14 years as in-house legal counsel at several companies in the transportation and manufacturing industries, including a recent position as a senior director and general counsel at a global company freight forwarding and logistics, where he oversaw and guided the service of commercial contracts for North American transportation as well as the management of a wide range of legal, regulatory and compliance issues and commercial disputes. His in-house legal experience also includes serving as corporate counsel at a national provider of transportation, logistics and warehousing services; associate legal counsel for the division of a major producer of bleach and akali chlorine products in North America; and associate general counsel for one of the largest trucking companies in the United States. Prior to his internal duties, Mr. Kabalka had over a decade of litigation and appellate experience.

Mr. Kabalka graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he served as editor of the Tennessee Law Review. He is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and Chattanooga Bar Association.
