Gary R. Chartrey May 11, 1951 – November 8, 2021
Gary was born in Spokane, Washington to Juanita and Jack Chartrey. He is survived by his wife Karen (Urdahl) of 44 years and his brother Mike.
Gary lived in Spokane for five years, then moved to Aberdeen where he went to AJ West and Hopkins Junior High, and he graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1970. He was a member of the only undefeated football team to ‘Aberdeen.
Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friend Ted. He also enjoyed playing golf with his father, brother and uncle. Gary has also flown competition kites in Long Beach.
He worked as a meat cutter (trained by his father) for Swanson’s. He later became a meat manager for Safeway for many years. He retired and lived in Lacey for 28 years.
He will always be remembered for his fun nature and great sense of humor by all who knew him.
