Parish President Hotard Brings Free Legal Services to St. John After Hurricane Ida – The Observer

St. Jean Baptiste Parish – Parish President Hotard announces a partnership with Legal Services of Southeast Louisiana to provide free legal assistance in the event of a Hurricane Ida disaster to residents affected by the Hurricane Ida in Saint-Jean-Baptiste Parish.

Hurricane Ida Disaster Legal Assistance is available by appointment every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legal Clinic located at 1811 W. Airline Hwy in LaPlace. Residents of St. John the Baptist Parish seeking disaster legal assistance can contact Southeast Legal Services at 225-448-0080 ext. 336 to make an appointment. “Being personally affected by Hurricane Ida, I fully understand the challenge many of our residents face as they navigate these complex issues.” said Parish President Hotard. “This free service will provide assistance with FEMA claims and appeals, estates, wills, powers of attorney, contractor disputes, insurance claims, family law issues, benefits, foreclosures, landlord-tenant issues, notarizations and other disaster-related issues to better help residents recover.
